REPORTS claim that Patrick Roberts is on his way to Spain to tie up a season-long loan with Girona FC.

The former Celtic midfielder left the club after his second loan spell finished at the end of last season with the hope of making an impact in the Premier League.

However, after talks with Leicester and Huddersfield broke down before the English deadline on Thursday the player is now without a club and has no prospect of playing under Pep Guardiola at Man City.

Clubs on the continent were alerted to Roberts availability with more than five clubs contacting City about the Englishman – Girona being one of them.

If true, the attacking midfielder will be tasked with trying to help the Spanish side improve upon their 10th place finish in La Liga.

It would certainly be a culture shock for the double treble winner who looks to spread his wings.

If the deal goes through, we wish him all the best

  1. Why are you reporting on this? He was never coming back this season, so who cares where he goes.
Start worrying about the disaster unfolding thing within the club.
One win in five, one clean sheet in six. That’s a bit of a crisis developing. Defeat, or even extra time win would be a disaster.
