Former Celtic midfielder Patrick Roberts got a rare Manchester City run out during the club’s 1-0 defeat to Dortmund in America on Friday evening.

The tricky winger left Celtic in the summer after two and half years on-loan at the club where he helped win three league titles and two trebles.

Before he left he put end to speculation he would be coming to Celtic on a permanent basis by telling fans he wants to make a breakthrough in the English Premier League.

Paddy is aware that is time at City is very much limited and with the addition of Mahrez he falls further down the pecking order.

Leicester thought they had a deal wrapped up for Roberts only for negotiations to stall meaning Roberts went on the first team’s tour of America for pre-season. This has halted negotiations somewhat with the player unsure if Leicester is the right move for him at this point in time.

The Englishman got the last 15 minutes against Dortmund to try and make an impression and gave a decent account of himself.
