CELTIC are set to bring the biggest transfer saga of the summer to a happy conclusion by signing Patrick Roberts on a reported one-year loan.

The Man City midfielder has been desperate to rejoin the hoops since leaving after the Scottish Cup final last season. After getting limited game time during Man City’s preseason he made it clear to the club that Celtic is his preferred destination.

The deal has gone on for so long because of City’s reluctance to send the player back to a club where he’s already spent 18 months. Also, Celtic had tried their hardest to convince City to sell Patrick on a permanent deal with a buy back clause but it doesn’t seem to have gone anywhere.

Patrick will have a routine medical today according to the BBC and should be announced through Celtic’s official channels shortly.

  1. Sorry, but another loan deal is not the answer.
It will cost us a lot of dosh, cash we could have used to find a player on a permanent deal.
Another loan is like knowing your wife has come back to you…for a wee while… but you know she going to leave you again soon.
    Not ideal.

    • strange analogy that mmmm no woman gets a 2nd chance with a real man ha ha Anyway yeah sign him or at least do everything possible to and then let it be known, i have a feeling its the real deal and he will be our player , as he loves it here and who wouldnt plus very unsettling for him he be much happier as we will being our player Hail Hail

    • Plus if celtic tried to get him on the cheep and steal him from under them it would bury any loan deal from any English league team again, we would suffer in the long run!!!

  2. Back to the kelly days, hold what we have, speed nothing and get it on the cheap. We are Glasgow Celtic Champions Of Europe if we want something buy it stop scrounging for it. Hail Hail
