It’s only been a few days since the summer transfer window ended but the Celtic rumour mill has started up once again.

The first player to be linked with a move away in January is Celtic midfielder, Ryan Christie. The midfielder chatted 19 goals and 16 assists for the club last season and that’s with the season being cut short.

According to the Scottish Sun, French Ligue 1 side Nice are looking at signing the 25-year old, who currently has two years left on his current deal at the club.

The French side reportedly had a look at Christie during a recent spell scouting in the United Kingdom and the Scotland international has caught their eye. The hoops of course, also played Nice during pre-season, so that is likely where Christie first came to their attention.

Manager of Nice Patrick Viera is thought to value Chrisite at around £10 million but they also believe that they can get him for cheaper in January. Celtic officials are keen to keep a hold of him, in their quest for 10 in a row.

Currently, Christie has been forced into self-isolation and will miss next weekend’s up and coming fixture. It is a big blow for Neil Lennon’s side and it shows how big a player he can be for this side
