Former Celtic midfielder Paul Lambert spoke to Mark Wilson on the Celtic huddle podcast this week and revealed he checked-in with Neil Lennon recently.
The former midfield duo were a formidable pair in the heart of the Celtic squad for Martin O’Neill and have stayed in touch since their days playing for the Hoops together.
Lambert said the Celtic manager told him he was disappointed with the Celtic protests after a tough run of results which seen fencing put up outside Celtic Park.
Speaking to the Huddle podcast as cited by SunSport, Lambert said:
“I spoke to Lenny the other week there and I asked him how he was, and the disappointment was the reaction of the fans after a couple of games where they haven’t been winning.
“Everybody is entitled to lose games. That can happen at any time, and I think that’s when they needed the support.
“To be fair to the board they got behind him and I think that’s important that they showed him support.
“I mean they’ve won 12 trophies on the spin.
“That’s an incredible record to achieve no matter what way you want to look at it, and hopefully it’s not over, but they have to go to Ibrox and win.”
Celtic’s form has picked up, but only after the Celtic manager brought new players into the fold to freshen things up.
