- KRIS COMMONS has accused Celtic of dragging their heels over John McGinn if they really do want him.
The former Celtic star believes his former club should pull out the stops to sign the midfielder and should stop messing around.
“I’m always a believer that, if you want a player, go and get him. Just pay what’s expected.
“There have been rumours of £1.4m, £1.7m, now £2m. Celtic are clearly aware of what the asking price is. But they are trying to drag it out.”
Celtic are the only club at present in for John who has only one-year left on his deal.
The club are wary of paying over the odds for a player who they can have next summer for free.
Celtic are also in a position to wait for their man given McGinn’s age and the fact Celtic have an embarrassment of riches in midfield at present.
