If anyone of a zombie persuasion thought that the wheels on the Celtic freight train were about to come off after their first domestic loss in 70 games, they will be disappointed.

The Celtic response, perfect. Celtic have played 3 times since their first loss in 70 games. After today’s game against Dundee, the Bhoys have scored 7 and conceded 0 in 3 games. Celtic are perfectly poised for their Glasgow showdown on Saturday.

As we reported earlier, Dundee proved to be a tough test in the past for Celtic. Today’s game at Dens Park was not one of those tough tests though.

Celtic had to work hard to get possession but once they had it they were in complete control. They completely dominated the first half. With goals from Forrest and Griffiths creating a two nil cushion at halftime. The scoreline could have been easily 0-3 if Lustig had not of touched an easy chance onto the post.

One major disappointment from the first half was a serious looking injury to Johnny Hayes. Brendan Rodgers had said during the week that Hayes had finally made the breakthrough and got to the level he needed to get more game time. We will report later on that injury but it did look bad. We understand Johnny was taken to the hospital, some pundits mentioned a leg break.
Mikey Johnston came on for Hayes and tormented the Dundee defence from his first touch. Celtic fans will beg to see more of Johnston.

Celtic started the second half the way they ended the first, in complete control. Griffiths, Ntcham, and McGregor had the best chances early on. Ajer made some tantalising runs into the Dundee half as he grows with each passing game.

James Forrest should have put the Celts up by 3 just before the 70th minute but he dragged his shot wide. Forrest, a thorn in the side all afternoon, ran through a couple of Dundee defenders before letting a shot go inside the Dundee box.

The game faded out with a bit of a whimper, Dundee played liked they were beaten and Celtic finished off the game like they had it won.

Roll on Saturday.

  1. How and why, can Kevin Clancy, book a Celtic player for tugging a Dundee players shirt, and does not book a Dundee player for the same offence????? Refereeing as it is in Scotland, shite!!!!!! And Clancy can have first shake of its hand!! Shocking refereeing from him. Does he not see the rug? He gave the foul. ! What an arse he s, but he is not alone in those stakes! Midden Celtic eased off today, to save any more injuries, and can any one fell me why the boy that crocked Johnny Hayes, was not shown after Ashe went to ground and went right throw Hayes!! Looks to me his ankle is broken! What a barstewart!
