Oh no! Not another Patrick Roberts transfer story I hear you grown.

The Celtic midfielder hasn’t had the best of times upon his return to the club this summer. Patrick has never been able to get going with niggling injuries, followed by a lengthy spell out.

The Manchester City man isn’t due back in a Celtic jersey until March, where he may struggle for fitness to make any real impact at the end of Celtic’s season.

However, Brendan Rodgers has never been shy about wanting Roberts here on a permanent basis and told the fans that the only reason he was on-loan again was due to City’s wishes.

Celtic intimated that they were ready to break their own transfer record in order to secure the player longterm, with Roberts keen to commit.

With this season being a bit of a write-off, Celtic will again consider whether to try and make the deal permanent.

The fickle fans out there will tell you that we don’t need a player like Roberts when we have James Forrest on-from, but the Englishman has proven his worth to the club on many occasions and if we could secure a permanent deal it would still be a massive statement of intent. Not to mention it will help spur James Forrest on to keep up the form which has softened the blow from losing paddy.

With a large windfall from the van Dijk transfer soon to be in the Celtic coffers, it could be the perfect time to test City’s resolve again. Pep’s men are flying high and it’s safe to say Paddy won’t get anywhere near that team come the summer.

  1. yes we certainly have been unlucky with paddy , but my opinion is we should try for him permanent . he most certainly is missed in our team , and has much more to offer , so hurry home paddy paradise awaits you . xxx

  2. Don’t think now is the time to go for Paddy. I think there are other places in the team that need strengthening as a matter of priority. Better waiting until later on this one.

  3. Paddy is missd,Hurry back!!!We need a few more recruits of decent quality.See the Hunbelievable Media still use the Old Firm Slogan,Doesnt matter how they dress it up,Sevco urni RainJurz….Roll On Saturday,Send On The Tribute Act

  4. This is basically free money. We may have been expecting it, buts free money. We should treat ourselves.
But we do need a good youngish goalie, and another centre half and left back cover. Maybe a right back If ralston isn’t getting over whatever injury he got.

  5. Paddy has been rank this season up to his injury. Deflected goal v Anderlecht aside he’s done nowt. Forrest a far better player based on appearances this season.
Not saying I don’t like Paddy as a player but I wouldn’t pay silly money.
Sign Morgan and Musonda instead seeing as Paddy and Hayes are out.

While I’m on…..get fooked right inty this mob from the first second on Saturday Celtic. They are absolutely shite. Don’t let them fluke a draw like last time wae Hill.

Corteo from the CSA will be epic…..Bring yer sparklers !!!!!

  6. I don’t think Celtic should pay 12 million pound for Paddy a good player and entertainer I think he would be a targeted man considering his injuries as well and if he does come back I just hope Brendan Rodgers doesn’t rely on him too heavily as he is a very young man and a good career in front of him especially if he can stear clear of the hackers in Scottish football if you know who I mean YEP THAT ???MOB SEVCO FRAY GOVAN .HAIL HAIL MON THE HOOPS 7-1
