This is a developing story this morning and we’re doing our best to keep you up to date with what’s going on.

Firstly, at around 1am this morning the Police and Fire Brigade were called to Peter Lawwell’s home where a car had been set on fire.

The fire quickly spread to the house where Mr Lawwell and his family were sleeping, they were all evacuated from their home and nobody was hurt but the family are obviously traumatised.

It took eight fire engines to put out the blaze and there was still a major presence at 7am this morning after the flames had been put out.

A criminal investigation is now underway to unearth the perpetrators of this mindless and heinous attack on a custodian of our club.

A picture has circulated online showing the damage done to the property and the cars.

Celtic issued a statement this morning:

“We can confirm that significant damage has been caused to Peter Lawwell’s house and vehicles there, following an explosion and fire early this morning, forcing the family to leave the property.”

“Clearly, Peter’s family are extremely shaken and shocked by these terrible events, but thankfully all are safe”

“We understand that Police Scotland are currently undertaking a criminal investigation.”

“Peter and his family will of course receive the full support and care of everyone at the Club.”

We can only hope the thugs who have done this will be caught and brought to justice. It’s absolutely sickening.

  1. I may have been unhappy with some of Mr Lawell’s transfer business and some of the signings we missed out on but I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. The people that did this are the scum of the earth and I hope they’re jailed for attempted murder soon. Best wishes to Peter and his family. I hope the experience has not been too traumatic and that you are all ok. Once a Celt, ALWAYS a Celt. You will never walk alone.

  2. and this is how they celebrate their league win, fighting each other, using bottles, marring the city. UTTER SCUM, B@stards. Ipox should be closed down and the things that go there should cast to the wind. Ban them forever, go on Sturgeon show us what you intend to do?????

Is this Sturgeons Scotland, absolute trash. Even the EU wouldn’t want this shower.
