PETER LAWWELL wasted no time today after the final whistle with the chief executive confirming he had offered Neil Lennon the role as Celtic manager for the second time.

The Irishman came in to replace Brendan Rodgers in February on a temporary basis and did everything that was asked of him by landing a league and Scottish Cup double to ensure Celtic made it a treble treble.

Lawwell had a script and he was reading from it at full time when he fed the same quotes to several different media outlets. The CEO spoke about Lennon’s credentials word for word and in every interview Lawwell took part in on the day had one stand out comment.

Peter spoke about how Neil was a winner but most importantly how he had an eye for a player. Speaking more than once about how the Irishman could spot talent, we couldn’t help but think it was a passive aggressive jibe towards Brendan Rodgers who got the best out of the squad he had BUT found it tough going when it came to recruitment.

Neil will now sit down with the Celtic board to thrash out his next move. If Lawwell is a man of his word then there will surely be funds forthcoming in the summer which will help Lennon revamp this team.

  1. Brendan Rodgers left us high and dry and if Lenny was not around at the drop of a hat, then he Brendan Rodgers could have given his Ex-Liverpool captain the title….

It is now the time of Neil Lennon to put his own mark on his team,i hope he gets £20 to 25 million next window and for new five or six new faces so he can take us to 9 and beyond….

    • He’s got the job and he now need the backing of the full celtic support whether they like it or not he is the manager of celtic. If we dont the cracks will start to show on the park and it will cost us the league nxt season and we will only have ourselves to blame for the downfall.
