PETER LAWWELL is the man who is pulling the strings with all of Celtic’s transfers.
It would have been Celtic’s chief executive who sent Arsenal a polite ‘no thanks’ over the weekend to their second official bid for Kieran Tierney as the London club tried to land the Celtic star.
The Europa League club are trying their best to get Kieran in for as low an amount as possible with no hurry to do the deal or slap in a figure which Celtic simply can’t refuse.
It’s all about offering as little as possible up front and in that respect, Peter Lawwell must appreciate what Arsenal are trying to do. Unlucky for the London club, they merely adopted the dark, Peter Lawwell was born in it, moulded by it even.
The Celtic CEO is well versed in negotiations and while this may frustrate Celtic fans with regards to players coming in, it stands us in good stead when it comes to getting the very best deal for our players.
Arsenal are aware of the fee Celtic will budge at, they haven’t hit it, and if they come to the realisation that Peter Lawwell is not messing about, which he isn’t, then if they really want Kieran they have to pay the price stated.
Twentyfive Mill plus one pence would be daylight robbery for Kieran. And the Arse know its cheep. But a very good deal for all. Especialy Kieran himself. Is up to him if he is going or maybe his burd.

I thought the EPL was awash with cash. 25 million is a steal for Tierney and they want some higher purchase, Sevco-esque deal with minimum down and payments over 50 years. tell them to get lost and tell the Italians 27.5 and generous add-ons will seal the deal. Clearly the Englanders don’t have that much money. Why is Tierney signing for them any way? They are yesterday’s men and cannot afford to keep up with lunatics at City and Chelsea. Better of waiting for a big club. Arsenal will win nothing. A bit disappointed in KT you would think the 10 might be imporatnt to him but 50 grand a week extra obviously does it.
