PETER LAWWELL was spotted heading into Lennoxtown today, no doubt to address the Celtic players inside the training facility after the departure of Neil Lennon.

It will be the last time Peter Lawwell will have to take this responsibility at Celtic and given his status beyond the summer, he may have some home truths for the players who contributed to Lennon’s departure.

The Celtic chief executive never wanted his last major decision to be getting rid of Neil Lennon but it was inevitable and overdue in the end.

Sky Sports confirmed Lawwell’s presence at midday.

LAWWELL AND CELTIC PLAYERS ARRIVE FOR TRAINING

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell and captain Scott Brown have arrived at the club’s training ground after the news early this morning of Lennon’s resignation.

Celtic have a game on Saturday and things will not be too different heading into the game against Aberdeen. Kennedy and Strachan will both be on the training pitch, giving the players direction.

For the players, there will be some who know their time at Celtic is coming to an end and others who are fighting for their Celtic future.
