Former Celtic player and Sky Sports man Davie Provan claims Celtic fans are about to find out if Neil Lennon is just Peter Lawwell’s puppet or if he’s going to hold the chief executive’s feet to the fire as Rodgers did.

There are less than three weeks to go until the end of this window and Celtic are still in need of reinforcements. Neil Lennon was claiming this too up until Tierney left and Celtic landed £25m. The Celtic has been very cautious about what he says with regards to any more incomings which is worrying some of the support.

Provan took to his column to say he believes if Celtic don’t get more players through the door before all is said and done then it would be pretty clear Neil knows where his bread is buttered.

“BY the time this transfer window closes, we’ll know whether Neil Lennon is his own man or just another Peter Lawwell puppet.” The pundit wrote in his SunSport Column.

“The Celtic chief executive shovelled another £25million into the vault from Kieran Tierney’s transfer to Arsenal this week. Lennon’s job is to get as much of it as he can.”

This is something that gets levied at Neil Lennon constantly but Brendan Rodgers still spent two or three transfer windows at Celtic not getting the players he wanted. The manager actually vacated the position without signing a full time right back.

  1. Don’t Blame Peter Lawwell, Its up to lennon to identify what player he wants and tell me what player we could buy for 25m and be happy with the wage structure at Celtic apart from unsettling other players in the team with the pay difference.
