It was last week when we were told by Duncan Castles Arsenal had not only put a bid in for Odsonne Edouard, but he reported the London club were in the middle of submitting a second bid for the Frenchman.

Castles, who has a Transfer window podcast is usually pretty reliable for information.

After Celtic’s win against Livingston on Saturday, Neil Lennon was grilled on the future of his star striker but the Celtic gaffer was adamant there had been no OFFICIAL approach for Edouard in this window.

‘No confirmed interest’ is what Neil Lennon is saying.

Someone is fibbing about what’s going on. There’s no doubt the rumours will intensify as we get closer to the transfer deadline which is set for October 5. Celtic want to keep him but as someone who has been around the block with Celtic on the run up to a transfer deadline; you can’t rule anything out.

It gives us some comfort we scored three goals without the striker on Saturday but if we’re serious about the ten, surely we must keep our best player.
