Daizen Maeda has began the long journey back to Scotland from Japan as he gets set to rejoin the Celtic squad ahead of their pre-season camp.

The Hoops are heading to Austria on Monday where they’ll be pretty much at full strength when all the international bhoys return.

The Bhoys in green started back at Lennoxtown on Monday but the international players got an extra week off due to their participation for their country – allowing them a much needed break.

Daizen was one of those involved for Japan, along with Kyogo. Today the Japanese Celtic star posted a picture of himself at the airport ready to board a flight.

It’s exciting times for Celtic fans. We watched a team grow throughout last season to become champions when it looked unlikely.

They have grown close and stronger as a squad in that time. With the procurement of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota on permanent deals, there’s real optimism about the place that Celtic can do damage next season.

Let’s hope Ange Postecoglou can get these players firing again!
