The European Championships are currently underway over in Germany. So far, the tournament has served up a wealth of goals, drama, and shocks.

Scotland helped open the competition last Friday night, with two Celts – Callum McGregor and Anthony Ralston – in Steve Clarke’s lineup which faced Germany.

Despite having a fair sense of optimism going into the game, the Tartan Army were left in the dumps as the hosts ran riot, coming away deserved 5-1 victors.

Since the showpiece tournament opener, fans have been treated to a feast of football. There have been three games on each day from Saturday, and it hasn’t taken long for a Celtic shirt to be spotted in the crowd at one of them.

Slovakia took on Belgium yesterday and came away shock-1-0 winners. Celtic target Martin Dubravka was a standout between the sticks, and when the TV cameras panned to fans of his nation, one man was spotted in the unmistakeable green and white hoops:

The only real connection between Celtic and Slovakia comes from Lubo Moravcik. The talented winger was a fan-favourite during his four years at the club and is one of only three Slovaks to have represented the Bhoys.

The other two are Stan Varga and Lubos Kamenar, but perhaps the fourth could be Dubravka depending on how the champions’ goalkeeper hunt unfolds this summer.
