MONDAY’S are usually a slow news day when it comes to football, the weekend’s results have been digested and we start to slowly turn to the next game – but there was no let up in the news coming out of Celtic as the bhoys gear up for their last 4 games of the year.

Celtic lost to Hibernian on Sunday and have slipped to third in the table by default, having two games in hand against Kilmarnock and one against The Rangers.

However, eyes were taken away from the SPFL as Celtic fans switched their attention back to the Europa League. The draw was made Monday afternoon and it’s pulled belter of a tie out of the hat. Celtic will take on Valencia in a doubleheader in February in what could be a special night at Parkhead.

One man who will make his Parkhead bow is certainly going to make some news, as the Spanish club’s right back Cristiano Piccini was so close to signing for Celtic in the summer.

It was also great news to hear Nir Bitton started Celtic’s reserve match against Hibernian at Cappielow today. The midfielder has been out of action for ten months and looks ready to come back into the first team. Celtic fought from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Hibernian and the bhoys could have got the win in the end.
