English Premier League giants, Liverpool have reportedly entered the race to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard this summer.

According to journalist Ian McGarry, who was speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast alongside fellow journalist Duncan Castles, the current Premier League Champions are interested in the French striker.

“Liverpool and Arsenal are two teams who are chasing Odsonne Edouard of Celtic, Duncan. [He’s] a player who we have mentioned a few times on the podcast. Mostly with regards to Arsenal’s interest.
“What I think is interesting about the fact that Liverpool has entered the equation is that they have done so on the basis that they expect or at least suspect one of the front three of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino or Sadio Mane may leave in the summer.”

Of course, McGarry also mentions Arsenal who have been linked with Edouard for the last few months ahead of the summer transfer window.

In the summer it feels inevitable that the 23-year old will be moving on after a four-year stay at the club.

So with several clubs reportedly eyeing a move for the striker, it could prove as good news to the Hoops as we look to get as much money from the deal as possible with Edouard entering the final year of his contract.

The funds in this deal will likely provide a lot of support for the up-and-coming rebuild of the club this summer, which will be crucial in taking the club forward with so many likely to leave in the summer.
