BRENDAN RODGERS believes there will be more Parkhead exits before tomorrow night’s deadline but none so high profile as a Moussa Dembele should the Frenchman leave.

The club are working non-stop to try and bring in players as well as cut down the size of their squads at all levels.

Asked if there will be any more players going out before the deadline, even on loan the manager replied:

“There will be. Our squads are way too big, it’s as simple as that”

When I came in here a couple of years ago I felt the squad was too big then, too big in order to have any competition in your squad and to have the right spirit and everything that you need to be a successful team.

“We cut the squad down at that point and we find ourselves at the point a couple of years in with a similar sort of number.”

Rodgers turned his attention to players who need to head out to get experience but has also said there are players in his squad who have been told they will not be getting game time and it would be in their best footballing interests to move on.

The Celtic manager accepts however that some may not want to go because they’re on a contract they wouldn’t get elsewhere.

“So there are definitely players that need to go get experience and get games. There are some players that know exactly where they stand in terms of their future, they’re not going to get games but they’re sat on a contract and of course, it’s within their rights to do what they need to do.

“It’s whether they want to go and play games and whether a deal can be done between clubs to make that happen”

There are certainly developmental players who could be doing with a move away on loan but then there are the likes of Ryan Christie and Scott Allan whose game time will be limited at the club.

They have to be two of the top players Rodgers spoke about latterly with regards to moving on.
