Police Scotland has urged fans not to protest at the ground this weekend, to prevent the spread of Covid-19

As quoted by the Daily Record, Chief Superintendent Mark Sutherland spoke on the matter and issued fans with a reminder that this sort of demonstration is banned under current tier 4 coronavirus lockdown restrictions.

He also warned that they will police the event in a ‘measured and appropriate’ way but ‘will use enforcement where required’.

This warning comes after supposed plans for a protest before Celtic’s fixture against St Johnstone, towards the board due to frustration behind their latest decisions.

Last weekend we saw similar scenes, in the aftermath of Celtic’s 2-0 loss to Ross County in the League Cup which has also led to the club placing even more safety barriers around the front of the ground in preparation for Sunday.

Last weeks scenes appeared to turn a little ugly with players cars being chased and things reportedly being thrown at the police or the vehicles.
