BBC Sportsound pundit Tam McManus has come out swinging with regards to the David Turnbull transfer to Celtic.

The former footballer took to social media in an attempt to put an end to the speculation surrounding what’s going on at the moment. Turnbull’s on again/off again transfer to Celtic took another twist on Tuesday night with something being flagged up in the medical Celtic weren’t happy about.

McManus has tried to set the record straight and confirmed what’s holding the deal up for all parties at the moment. He then blasts all the idle rumours and abuse aimed at Turnbull because the deal hasn’t gone through yet.

Celtic have been chasing the player’s signature for two weeks now since Motherwell confirmed they had accepted a bid from the Scottish Champions.

Since then, we’ve seen contract rejections, twitter statements and a trip down to Norwich where the player was offered a bigger deal. At the last minute, Turnbull made an incredible u-turn and rejected the Premier League Club.

Hopefully the deal gets over the line!

  1. Tam McManus is a tool. He needs an operation which will keep him out for three months. This is not a small injury or operation. Buyer beware. Celtic have done their homework good time to end this sham. Let someone else pick him up and then have him spend the entire duration of his contract getting injured and having operation after operation. If someone had looked up Compper’s wikipedia page they would have seen that he spent a sizeable chunk of the previous 2 or 3 seasons injured and not playing. You don’t knowingly buy faulty goods from a shop. Why spend 3 million on an injured player. This is a nonstarter Celtic. Move on.

    • I agree Motherwell need to get him the OP and get him fit and show Celtic he is still worth the money i do hope he is going be ok but motherwell need to keep him for a half or full season no one is going spend £3 million on a player that needs a OP…
