It appears as if Andrew Gutman has cut ties with Celtic and signed for the New York Red Bulls.

The defender came in under Rodgers but has never had a work permit to play football in Scotland. The US defender has been loaned out several times to US clubs and now his football journey takes him to New York.

There’s no official word from Celtic just yet and there’s a chance his registration has just been passed to the New York club until his deal runs out at Celtic.

Hopefully he has cut ties. This has been an ill fated and badly advised move. Manny Perez was also brought in under the same circumstances and he’s made less progress.

Players need to have taken part in a percentage of their countries internationals to get a work permit, to sign two players who were nowhere near the USA national team was silly.

We wish Andrew all the best at New York but not too much because Ronny Deila is the man in charge of their rivals New York City! Viva la Ronny Deila!
