CHRIS SUTTON has told Celtic if they land Shane Duffy this summer it would be a really good piece of business.

The club have made an enquiry for the Irish international but there’s no indication as of yet how Brighton have reacted. Celtic would not be looking to shell out the sort of fee Brighton would get from a Premier League club but a loan deal could suit all parties.

Sutton told BT Sport Xtra, he thought there was no chance at first but now he’s hearing whispers the deal is very much on.

“I think that would be a really good piece of business if Celtic can get that over the line

“At first when the rumours came out, I thought that can’t be possible. But the longer this goes, I’m hearing there may be a possibility of him coming in.”

Sutton isn’t the only one who thinks Duffy could do a job for the Scottish Champions. The supporters online seem to be predominantly enthusiastic about Duffy potentially coming in for this season.

Neil Lennon wants to go 3-5-2 this season and wants the team to be adaptable. Duffy alongside Ajer and Jullien could be a formidable backline for the rest of the season.
