ANGE POSTECOGLOU may not have been Celtic’s first choice to replace Neil Lennon, but he was undoubtedly our best choice.

After being appointed as Celtic manager in the summer of 2021, Postecoglou has been magnificent. The turnaround from last year’s performances has been astonishing.

Ange agreed to a 12-month rolling contract when he was announced as manager of the Parkhead club. This has been the case with every Celtic manager over the last few years. However, he has shown how great a manager he is, and some fans believe it’s time the board secured his services long-term.

Speaking today, as quoted by 4 Tims and a Podcast, Postecoglou provided an update to his contract situation;

‘I’ve never in my whole career worried about contracts. If it’s one year, It’s one glorious year, I’m going to work as if I’m going to be here forever. That’s how I’ve always worked, and That’s how ill continue to work.

‘Being manager of this football club fulfils everything that I’ve ever wanted as a manager because I’m in charge of a massive football club.

‘I get the opportunity to work at the highest level domestically and in Europe. I’m at a club where people are passionate about the same things I’m passionate about.

‘As a manager, you learn to understand that sometimes your destiny is not in your own hands. You always understand that at some point it will all come to an end, but I’m loving every moment of it.

‘I hope it continues for a long time.’

The manager is deserving of a long-term deal. The position he has guided us to in under a year is remarkable. He joined the club when we were a mess, started the most extensive rebuild in the club’s history and has the team at the top of the league with the League Cup in the cabinet.

That is a brilliant start to life at Celtic for Ange Postecoglou.
