Celtic are expecting many incoming players this window but are also braced for exits. Kris Ajer has already left, making a moke to Brentford, Jack Hendry’s move to Belgium has become permanent, Bayo moved to Gent and loan players returned to their clubs. Former Celtic skipper Scott Brown has also left. Odsonne Edouard’s name will be added to that list in a matter of time. In the final 12 months of his contract, he is keen to get a move away from Celtic with the club willing to cash in on the striker.

Speaking today, Ange Postecoglou confirmed he has talked to the French under 21s international but had no complaints when it came to his attitude in training.

“That sort of thing I can’t control. I have had a chat with Odsonne.

To me what’s more important is that Odsonne is training very well and presenting himself in games well, so while he’s here I’m treating him as a Celtic player.

If that changes in the near future then we’re making contingency plans for that.

I’m not going to waste too much time convincing people to stay or worrying about what happens in the future because there’s just too much to do on what I need to influence right now.”

When Edouard leaves, he will leave a massive hole in the squad. As a striker, he is simply one of a kind, at his best he is unstoppable and it is only a matter of team before he earns a move to a top team in the top five leagues.

  1. Unstoppable… Come on. Last season we couldn’t get him to move. He is a good player but if he wants to hit the top he has to learn to shoot on sight sometimes, instead of taking that extra dribble

    • Agreed Tony. He has lots of aspects of his game to improve on. We want to see a prolific striker. In our last fixture v FC Mityland he should be finishing the chance created by Ryan Christie. Christiano Ronaldo would finish chances like that we in a heartbeat and I know I would too given the chance, even in my 50’s. ?

  2. Even the particles currently being fired around the Large Hadron Collider are ‘stoppable’ so Edouard has a bit to go to merit the title “unstoppable.” As for scoring goals and leading the line, we’ve had better and shall have better in the future. Thanks for the memories, Va Va Voom, Hoora.

  3. We won’t win a thing til we get a keeper. The most important player to get to have a chance. Barkas and Bain aren’t even good enough for 2nd choice.

  4. As Mick Jagger once wrote
    #Angie, Angie
When will those clouds all disappear?
    Angie, Angie
Where will it lead us from here?
With no lovin’ in our souls
And no money in our coats
    You can’t say we’re satisfied
    Angie, Angie
You can’t say we never tried. #
