ANGE POSTECOGLOU has ensured that fans know Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton’s decision to leave the club this summer has been made by them, not Ange or anyone else at the club.

The club confirmed on Friday morning that the duo would depart in the summer and that Saturday’s match against Motherwell would be their final.

Addressing the press, which CeltsAreHere were involved in, the manager was desperate to set the record straight and ensure fans knew that the players decided to leave Glasgow in the summer.

“No, no, no! I never said that [the club decided to move Bitton and Rogic on].

“I said I’ve had discussions with the boys and they felt like it was the right time. And we, as a club, agreed.

“So it was never about one party or the other.”

Speaking to CeltsAreHere, the manager failed to say for definite if the pair would start on Saturday, but he seemed keen for them to receive one last ovation from the Parkhead faithful.

Both players hinted toward an exit on social media in recent days, and fans were saddened when it was confirmed by the club on Friday. They will leave a gap in the squad, but thanks to smart recruitment, Celtic already have players able to step in and fill the roles left by the midfielders.
