Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that he will make changes going into Celtic’s midweek clash against St Mirren in the Premiership.

The Hoops booked their place in the final of the Viaplay Cup at the weekend after a 2-0 victory over Kilmarnock.

It was by no means plain sailing getting to the final, but the league leaders showed their continual belief in the way they play football to eventually get their rewards.

The conditions at Hampden made the game even more difficult which the manager was keen to emphasise and admitted that the game itself was tough for the players.

A number of players have recently returned from injury and will be hoping to get some game time against St Mirren during the week and potentially at the weekend during the cup match against Morton.

“It’s fair to say the game itself and obviously the conditions took a fair bit out of the boys,” Ange Postecoglou told Celts Are Here.

“I haven’t kind of made final decisions yet but there will be some changes tomorrow.

“I think both because it took a fair bit out of the lads on the weekend and also we need to kind of freshen up the team I feel.

“So we’ll make a few changes, obvious the pleasing thing for me is guys who have been out recently Haksabanovic, Ralston, Welsh and McCarthy are all training and available. Obviously from my perspective, we’ve got some options there now and Alistair Johnston is good now after not starting the weekend game.

“It’s fair to say we’ll make some changes tomorrow off the back of the weekend game but also it’s a good one to sort of freshen up the team a bit.”

There was a number of changes made to the team on the last occasion that they met each other in September but the squad is now in a much better place since then and rotation has greatly benefited the squad throughout the season. Ange could be hinting at a debut for either Iwata or Kobayashi.
