ANGE POSTECOGLOU has revealed that Reo Hatate wants to go to the very top level of football. The player, who just made his national team debut, was impressive when he first arrived at Celtic, but fatigue has caught up with the player in recent weeks.

Playing in midfield, Reo earned comparisons to Iniesta. After showing his skill with the ball, he showed he could hit a shot, scoring a brace against The Rangers and the screamer against Hearts.

Incredibly, Hatate has only played two seasons of professional football, and this is because, in Japan, footballers tend to study at University before stepping into the professional career. To think how far Reo has come in such a short space of time is testament to his talent, skill and drive.

At Friday’s press conference, Postecoglou revealed that Hatate has big ambitions. Briefly mentioning them, the Celtic Boss said; [Celtic TV]

“Reo has had two years of professional football, and he’s determined to reach the very top of the game. He came here with the determination to make an impact at the club.”

Hatate may be using Celtic as a stepping stone into Europe, but he’ll be under no illusion that he needs to perform week-in-week-out to get noticed.

However, he may see the top level as the Champions League, and as things stand, Celtic will be competing in at least the group stages next season.

His quality is clear, but he needs to be more consistent. A rest will do the player a world of good.
