DAIZEN MAEDA arrived at Celtic in January on an initial loan deal, with Celtic obligated to buy the player in the summer.

There has been confusion about what will happen with the Yokohama F. Marinos loanee in the summer, but Ange has given a clear explanation.

The club will complete the purchase of Maeda, having put pen to paper on a four-year contract when he signed in January.

Ange Postecoglou told CeltsAreHere;

“Daizen will absolutely be here. It was more of a technicality. He was always going to be with us long-term. There was no issue around that. It was just the way the deal was structured with Yokohama.

“He’s signed for four years, so he’ll be here for the future.”

Maeda has been superb since he’s signed for the Hoops. After netting early on his debut, the striker has scored a further seven goals and set up two goals for his teammates. He’s also ran a marathon each match!

At the age of 24, a four-year contract will take the striker up to the age of 28, meaning the best is yet to come from Celtic’s new hero.

The man from Japan is now about to finish his season and a half without a break; just imagine how good he’ll be with a rest and a full pre-season with his teammates.
