Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has provided supporters with an update on when they might expect to see newest recruit, Matt O’Riley making his debut for the Hoops.

The 21-year old midfielder became the fifth signing of the January window, agreeing to a four and a half year deal with the club, adding more depth and quality to the Celtic squad in the midfield area.

Speaking to the press for the first time since the talented midfielder’s arrival, Postecoglou revealed that O’Riley is ready to play right from the off. However, he also warned that doesn’t mean his debut is going to come ‘straight away’.

With the news this morning that Tom Rogic will be heading off on international duty with Australia, therefore missing three up-and-coming fixtures in the league, the signing of O’Riley might come at a crucial time for Postecoglou and his squad.

Tomorrow could be a good opportunity to get the 21-year old some minutes under his belt and settle into life as a Celtic player. But, with Ange’s comments, O’Riley might have to wait a little longer for his first appearance in the Hoops.
