However, the Celtic manager had said that he’s not aware of any player about to leave the club, claiming the board hasn’t informed him of such news. Ange Postecoglou has also said nothing is set in stone, suggesting the transfer scene could change pretty rapidly.

There are several clubs interested in the Greek striker, and it’s not clear who Giakoumakis will play with come the end of the window. MLS teams are interested in the player, with his agents due to fly to Scotland to get his future sorted.

Speaking on Tuesday, Ange Postecoglou denied reports that Celtic had accepted a bid valued at just over £3 million. He said: [Celtic TV]

“It is pretty much the same. As I said, Michael is dealing with all that stuff and, as we sit right here, nobody is leaving or coming.

“There is always going to be speculation around the place but from our perspective at this moment there is nothing definite happening.”

It remains to be seen what happens with Giakoumakis and where he’ll be playing his football. But he’ll still be part of Celtic’s squad in the immediate future.
