Summer deadline day signing, Jota has made a brilliant start to life with the Hoops.

The on-loan Benfica winger appears to be loving life in Glasgow already, scoring and creating goals for fun in the early stages of his career with the club.

So much so that the 22-year old already has some sections of the support calling for the deal to be made permanent, with Celtic having included an option-to-buy on the temporary deal.

When questioned about the possibility of a permanent deal, Ange Postecoglou answered sensibly, insisting that there is no rush to activate the clause which the Hoops have placed on the talented wideman.

He also stated that he wouldn’t see why Jota wouldn’t want to remain in Glasgow, though, getting the opportunity to play in front of a massive crowd at Parkhead.

“With Jota and the details of the loan deal, there is an option there for us. He loves playing at this club, in front of 55,000 at Celtic Park and the challenges that come with that,” Ange said, as reported by the Daily Record.

“The decision on his future, there’s no rush with it. Firstly, it’s about the priorities for the club and then the player. This was an important move for him. He’d already had a loan in Spain that didn’t really work out.

“Why wouldn’t he want to stay? He’s running out in front of 55,000 people, scoring goals, putting on worldie assists, so he should be feeling pretty good about life.

“He had a tough time in Spain, so he understands he’s in a good place now.”

As exciting a start that Jota has made with the club, Ange is absolutely correct to take the cautious approach and continue with how things are at this moment in time.

Jota has had spells that haven’t worked out, so for now, it is about letting the young winger focus and enjoy his football – instead of worrying about other factors at this point in time.

Hopefully, we can continue to see the impressive performances we have seen so far from the Portuguese under-21 internationalist.
