Former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou was involved in a full-time spat with an ex-Celt after Al-Nassr’s comeback victory in the Saudi Pro League.
Postecoglou’s Al-Nassr completed the comeback against Al-Ettifaq to win 3-2, with former Celtic defender Jack Hendry enraged at full time.
Hendry’s side, Al-Ettifaq, surrendered a two-goal lead to allow the former Celtic manager to oversee all three points.
Hendry couldn’t hide his frustration after each of Al-Nassr’s three late goals and was left furious at the final whistle. The 31-year-old was embroiled in several arguments with players from the Saudi champions before an exchange of words with Postecoglou.
Big Ange wasn’t for backing down, however, and he was keen to fire back some verbal jabs on a night when he subbed off Cristiano Ronaldo at half-time when they were trailing by two goals.
Hendry departed the Hoops just before Postecoglou was appointed manager. Their row was witnessed by two other men with Celtic connections.
Moussa Dembele started the game and Henrik Larsson’s son, Jordan, was on the pitch as acrimony spilled over.
Their times at Celtic were very different, with Hendry’s best football coming after he departed. The defender featured at the World Cup for Scotland and has gone on to star in Saudi Arabia for the past three years.
Treble-winner Ange celebrates his 61st birthday today, and he’s ensured it’s one to fully celebrate after a strong start to his new chapter.
