ANGE POSTECOGLOU was full of praise for his squad after overcoming Liningstyon 3-1 on Sunday.

The lunchtime kick-off looked to be another one of those days after Callum McGregor struck the post from 12-yards then missed a golden opportunity.

But a first-half goal from Maeda gave the Hoops the lead heading into the break. An own-goal early into the second 45, followed by a strike from James Forrest to double his goal tally for the season, gave the Bhoys a three-goal advantage. The Lothian side did manage to get on the scoresheet.

Celtic ended their 15-year winless record on Postecoglou’s 50th game in charge, two milestones in one day.

Speaking after the match, Postecoglou reminded fans the state Celtic left the Tony Macaroni Arena when the sides last met. Celtic were mid-table and had just been beaten by David Martindale’s side.

“I just think the players are a really resilient mob.

“The last time we left here, we were in sixth spot. It goes to show you, they, right from the start, even though they were difficult beginnings, this group of players, whatever challenge they had they’ve overcome and continue to overcome.” [live on Sky Sports]

Celtic have progressed a lot since then. The team still are getting better, and there is much room for improvement still.
