Postecoglou Praises ‘Statement’ Win

Ange Postecoglou has praised his side for their ‘statement’ victory over Ross County on Saturday afternoon as the Hoops went six points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic have produced a fine run of form over the last few months, but in recent weeks there was some questioning some of the performances despite the results coming our way.

However, that has well and truly been put to bed, with Postecoglou’s side producing some superb attacking football, and that was no different yesterday, with the Hoops racing into a 3-0 lead in the first 45 minutes.

As quoted by the Daily Record, Postecoglou praised his side for the football they are currently playing, as well as the result and challenged his players to stay resistant during a crucial period in the season.

“I don’t think our players had lost ruthlessness, but it’s very easy to succumb to anxiety at this time when the stakes are so high.

“It’s important that we keep playing our football and don’t shy away from that. That’s why it was important not just to win the game but to make a statement about playing our football against a side that has been in great form.

“We need to stay really strong in terms of our resilience and our commitment to what we’ve started to do.”

As we approach the end of the season, it must be a scary thought for the rest of the league seeing Celtic hit top form once again, whether that be through the results or performances.

It leads us nicely into the final few games before the split, including a trip to Ibrox after the international break at the beginning of April.

If we are able to keep that sort of form up, Ange and the squad will likely be confident there is no catching them in this title race, as they continue to go about things the correct way.
