Ange Postecoglou has provided a squad update ahead of Sunday’s trip to face St Johnstone, as he admitted not many of his crocked stars will return to action this weekend.

The Celtic boss has faced his fair share of injury issues within the squad, and that was no different on Wednesday night. He was without the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi and Joe Hart, to name just a few of the long list of names currently out.

Although he admitted there is a chance that ‘one or two’ may be back, he is likely to have a similar squad to the St Mirren game for the trip to Perth.

“It’s unlikely with the short turnaround. We might get one or two, but at this stage, it will be a similar sort of team that went out on Wednesday night,” he said, speaking to Sky Sports.

It has been a tough month or so filled with fixtures for the Hoops due to the several injury issues we have had to face.

With one fixture remaining before the extended winter break, Postecoglou can look forward to the prospect of a rest for his squad and having more return from injury once the Scottish Premiership is back next month.

The focus for now, though, is getting through that final fixture with three points in the bag on Sunday.

  1. I hope Ange makes at least one change. Don’t play Mickey Johnston. I would rather see an academy player play instead. Anyone who knows where the goal is and when to pass rather than blast a shot miles wide/over. We can’t afford to keep wasting opportunities.

  2. Just rewind the highlights of the St Helen Mirren game, yes Mikie Johnston did hit most of his shots and they returned with space dust on them. Wasn’t the only one who shot straight at the goalie or wide.

I’m sure if he plays, he will look about him, then pass it to someone who can score.
He is probably cringing at his misses too.
