The Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou believes Scotland and Steve Clarke are taking the sensible approach to Callum’s inclusion with the Scotland squad.

Many Celtic fans weren’t happy to see the player in the squad considering he’s not been fit to play for Celtic. Ange has no qualms about the player’s involvement – especially if he can get some minutes before the international break.

While the manager admitted Sunday was the likely jumping off point for Callum, there‘s a very slim chance he could get minutes against Leverkusen.

“I think Steve Clarke said if Cal[lum] plays, then you’d be silly not to pick him before the window. So, you know, I think he’s taken the sensible approach, as have we.” Ange told Celtic TV via YouTube.

“Cal has now trained which is good, he’s trained with the group. So, we’ll hopefully get him some game-time. If not tomorrow, then on Sunday.”

Callum has been a regular for Scotland; playing and scoring in the Euros for his country. There’s no doubt the midfielder will want to play if he is fit enough. The chance to get to a World Cup is a major incentive for the whole Scotland squad.

Callum just signed a five-year deal with Celtic and has committed his best years to the club. The Hoops captain has been with Celtic since he was nine-years old.
