ANGE POSTECOGLOU has reacted to the news that the Ibrox side has pulled out of the Sydney Super Cup, saying he is still looking forward to the tournament and he’s not downbeat about The Rangers pulling the plug.

The trip down under was controversial. Fans made their opinions clear. They didn’t want to meet their foes in a friendly match under any circumstances. Supporters were all for club fans who live down under to see Postecoglou’s Celtic and play a couple of A-League teams while on the island.

When the news emerged on Thursday night that the support act to Ange’s Homecoming was pulling out, fans were relieved.

Speaking on the issue, Postecoglou said;

“I’m the manager of the club that’s going there and I’m looking forward to it.

“Apart from the fact I think it’ll be great for our football club because I know how passionate people are about this club and football in general. For me, IT’S A  trip back home so I’m certainly looking forward to it.”

Continuing, Postecoglou expressed his feelings towards Celtic’s rivals pulling out;

“Disappointed? Disappointment for me is about things I can control and I have some sort of semblance of control over. I’m not going to get disappointed over things I’ve got nothing to do with.”

The Rangers claim that several agreed terms weren’t met, like the use of the branding ‘Old Firm’ and that they hadn’t received their first instalment of payment on time. The Govan side also believed that the advertisement was too focussed on Celtic.

However, the organisers responded, claiming that this was not the case. In fact, the Ibrox club pulled out due to an adverse reaction from their fans base.

Ripping up their contract, the Rangers will likely find themselves involved in another legal dispute.
