ANGE POSTECOGLOU was pleased with his side as they were defeated in a bounce game as their training camp in Portugal came to an end.
It was a busy start to the game, with all seven goals coming in the first half. The Bhoys found themselves 4-1 down at one point but manages to claw two goals back.
It’s been a busy week in Portugal, with two intense training sessions a day as the squad prepares to return to league action against Aberdeen next week.
Postecoglou admitted he could see the impact of the training in the performance on Saturday morning but was pleased with the minutes he got into the players, especially Carl Starfelt and Callum McGregor. The manager said to Celtic TV:
“It was okay, some good bits and some not-so-good bits. Overall, it’s been a good week of training for us. The Bhoys have worked hard, and they probably felt the effects of it in today’s game at different times.
“Overall, it was a positive week. We’ve managed to get some minutes into the guys who, particularly Carl and Callum, who haven’t played a lot recently. They got through it well.”
It was a strong team that started for Celtic, but as usual in these matches, the flow was impacted severely when Postecoglou made five changes at once, making more as the game continued.
