ANGE POSTECOGLOU has given Giorgos Giakoumakis the green light for Sunday’s match against Livingston. The striker has missed Celtic’s trip to Easter Road and the win over St Mirren due to a minor illness.

Postecoglou suggested that the striker could have been given the all-clear for Wednesday, but he wasn’t willing to take a risk.

In a challenging venue, Giakoumakis’ presence could prove pivotal; Postecoglou confirmed today that the striker would be back for the encounter at the Tony Macaroni; [YouTube]

“He is fine. I made a decision on Wednesday that it was best not to push him, we had some options.

“He trained on Thursday with the guys who weren’t playing and then trained fully today.

“No-one came out with anything from the game so it’s the same sort of squad plus Giorgos.”

After a tough start in the hoops, Giakoumakis has been phenomenal. Not always getting on the scoresheet, he is a menace up top. Giakoumakis moves around, leaving the opposition players unsure how to deal with him, creating openings for teammates.

Tall and strong, the striker also uses his build to his advantage.

However, we must not rely on one player, and ten others need to turn up and put a graft in. Playing in Lothian is never easy, and Celtic will need to ensure they put in a top-class performance to return to Celtic Park at least three points clear at the top of the table.
