ANGE POSTECOGLOU revealed why he didn’t throw Liam Scales into the Celtic Starting XI against Livingston on Sunday.

The Celtic manager’s away woes continued as a dogged Livingston side managed to stifle his new look Hoops.

Livingston have our number on their home turf – Celtic have failed to beat the West Lothian club at the Tony Macaroni stadium since they got promoted to the SPFL in the 17/18 season.

Celtic have had three away games this season in the league and have suffered three defeats.

Tynecastle, Ibrox and the Tony Macaroni have seen Celtic drop nine points out of nine on the road. What makes it more frustrating; Celtic could have gained ground on their Glasgow rivals who dropped two points at home to Motherwell.

Boli Bolingoli came in from the cold for the club on Sunday afternoon, surprising many supporters who believed the Belgian defender had played his last game for Celtic last August.

Scales has come in from Shamrock Rovers and has played for his former club this season already, however, Ange has revealed the defender wasn’t ready.

“Boli has been training well and we thought it was a good game to give him a start with Greg [Taylor] going down and Monty [Adam Montgomery] playing 90 minutes the other night [in the 4-3 defeat away to Real Betis].

“It was a big ask to ask him to start, and Liam Scales isn’t quite ready yet.”

Surely Scales and Greek striker Gorgios Giakoumakis will see game time against Raith Rovers.
