Former A-League chief Archie Fraser insists Ange Postecoglou already has his UEFA badges after it was suggested the manager didn’t hold the relevant badges to manage in Europe.
Ange has been hotly tipped to be the next man in charge of Celtic, within minutes of the Eddie Howe deal collapsing his name was put out there by several media outlets. The same media outlets who appear to get briefed on a regular basis by board members and executives.
There’s been a suggestion over the weekend the deal could hit a snag because of UEFA badges.
We didn’t believe that to be the case, even if Ange didn’t have the proper paperwork.
Celtic would have certainly made sure the manager would be able to takeover and we reported how the current Ibrox manager was undertaking his UEFA licence at the same time as being in charge at the Glasgow club.
“Ange was one of two coaches who had done their UEFA Pro Licence at that stage.” Fraser told RecordSport.
“The only other person was Ernie Merrick – a Scot from Ayrshire – and who managed Melbourne Victory and had been since the first year of the A-League in 2005.
“They remained the only two holders of the UEFA badge for a few years. I remember holding talks with the FFA technical director Han Berger about lifting the bar on A-League coaches and wanting them to have the Pro Licence.
“We had been hiring coaches without the credentials to make the game better yet here was Ange who was one of only two guys to have the UEFA licence.
“Whether he was directed to renew it as an Asian Football Confederation Pro-Licence when he took over as Australia boss I’m not sure.
“But he would certainly have required to still hold a Pro licence to take on his current job with Yokohama in the J-League.”

Good grief, he stated he didn’t have EUFA badges, now he is being stated as having the badges. If he doesn’t know what qualifications he has, what else has he forgotten? Dump him and bring RK, he knows what he has, and that doesn’t exclude stuffing the slimy one from ipox.
