Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is wary of the threat Thursday’s Europa Conference League opponents Bodo Glimt will pose as the Norwegian Champions get set to travel to Glasgow for the first leg.

Kjetil Knutsen side hasn’t been in action for several weeks, with the Norwegian league coming to a close, so his group of players are currently going through their pre-season preparations.

However, Postecoglou isn’t going to downplay the European opposition and the threat they will pose on Thursday night, with the 56-year old also anticipation an entertaining, attacking game between the two sides.

“People should realise what they did to Roma. They did it in Rome as well,” he said, as quoted by the Daily Record.

“They grabbed my attention back then – before we knew we were going to play them.

“They have an outstanding manager, and they play an aggressive, expansive style of football.

“It should be a cracking game.

“We are in a heavy schedule of games, but at the same time, we are in a good moment.

“We’re in good form; players are fit.

“Bodo are similar to us when we go into our Champions League qualifiers as they are in pre-season mode at the minute.

“That could potentially work both ways. We have the match sharpness, but they could have a freshness about them.

“I’ve got no doubt they will both be cracking games because of the way they play – and we won’t change our approach.

“We are heading to the Arctic Circle, so even the Scottish weather will go out of the window.

“That’s the beauty of European football. For me, as a manager, that’s what gets the adrenaline pumping. Testing yourselves in different conditions against different teams and different types of setups.”

When the draw was conducted back in December, this tie was pointed out as an exciting one for many fans, with the prospect of two entertaining sides facing off.

Since then, a lot has changed within both teams in terms of incomings and outgoings, but it still should prove to be an intriguing tie both in Scotland this week and in Norway next Thursday.

This competition provides a brilliant opportunity for Ange Postecoglou and his squad, with a potential opportunity to progress to later rounds. So, the former Socceroos boss will be looking to get down a marker come Thursday night.
