Celtic’s away tie with Aberdeen on Wednesday evening has been postponed due to torrential and the accumulative effect over the past few weeks on the pitch.

Aberdeen confirmed they raised concerens to the SPFL earlier in the day, and a pitch inspection went ahead at 4pm. We believe one of gthe goalmouths were proving particulary troublesome with the ball not bouncing or moving very well in and around the six yard box.

Celtic could have taken a huge step towards Hearts with a win at Pittodrie, after the Jambos fell to defeat against St Mirren on Tuesday, but now the game will have to be crammed in somehwere else in an already busy schedule with Celtic still in Europe.

Martin O’Neill would have likely used this game to begin to bed in some of the new bhoys who signed on deadline day. However, they will now take their bow at Celtic park in the Scottish Cup tie against Dundee on Saturday.

That game, however, could see swathes of the Celtic support missing. The Celtic fan collective called for a boycott of the game. The group, who have already confirmed a merchandise boycott over the running of the club back in September, has taken this action after another farcical transfer window. There was no real plan from Celtic in the Janaury window other than contact agents and clubs and hope there was someone they could bring in for positions which needed strengthened. The lack of structure after all these years in charge beggars belief.

Many Celtic fans will miss the game with a heavy heart. Others will still gom, as is their perogative. But sometimes change comes at price.

We await to find out when the Aberdeen game will be rescheduled, and hope that Celtic can get the three points when the tie does go ahead.
