There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the Croatian defender in recent months. Celtic and Ange Pstecoglou don’t want to be caught cold if a massive bid comes in for Josip and they don’t have anyone lined up.

Johnstone currently plays for Montreal in the MLS. The 24-year-old put in a hell of a shift in against Belgium on Wednesday evening in the World Cup Group F game. Canada were extremely lucky to lose the game 1-0, missing a penalty and a whole plethora of chances before Belgium took the lead.

Ange is looking to see his Celtic side evolve and warned Celtic fans earlier in November that some of their favourite players might have to be sold to take this team where the manager wants them to go.

The bhoys have already confirmed the signing of Yuki Kobayashi on a five-year deal this week. It’s extremely ahead of schedule for the Scottish Champions. Yuki will meet up with Celtic in just over a week’s time in Portugal for the bhoys winter training camp.

The SPFL kicks back off on December 17th, so the defender won’t be eligible for any of the December games until he’s officially registered on January 1st 2023.
