You usually see David Tanner schmoozing with the other mob in Glasgow but today he spent the afternoon with Fraser Forster as the goalkeeper gets set to be confirmed as a Celtic player.

Five years after leaving the club for Southampton, fate has brought Celtic and Fraser together again and after an initial double take by some of the support it appears to be a move which is going down well.

Tanner was full of praise for the goalkeeper and described the loan deal as a potential ‘game changer’ for the side.

Forster was a fantastic goalkeeper for Celtic the first time around and at 31 he comes back with even more experience than before.

According to Tanner the big man is inpatient to get his Celtic career back underway.

With Scott Bain and Craig Gordon at the club already – is this the strongest and deepest the Celtic goalkeeping ranks have ever looked?

It’s going to be an interesting battle for the gloves.
