Ryan Gauld could make a move to the MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps. [RecordSport] The Former Dundee United youngster is out of contract this summer and is looking for a new club. The Canadian side are willing to offer the Scotsman a wage of £43,000 per week – something Celtic can simply not offer. This could see Celtic miss out on his signature.

After scoring 9 times last season and setting up teammates 7 times in the Portuguese top-flight is no surprise Gauld is attracting interest.

Leaving Dundee United for Sporting Lisbon, the midfielder has played for Hibs and Farense. Now Gauld has around 30 clubs interested in signing him on a free transfer including teams in Portugal’s European-placed teams.

With Ryan Christie expected to leave this summer, Ryan Gauld was seen as a replacement but Celtic look set to lose out due to finances unable to stretch to such an amount. According to Salary Sport, Celtic already spend £440,852 per week on salaries. Excluding loan players, Scott Brown was Celtic’s highest earner with him receiving £23,000 a week.

  1. Steve Clarke should resign for not having him in the Scotland First 11 for those 3 games as a mainstay. Absolute disgrace. The boy would have taken us to the last 16 single handedly and allowed realistic goalscoring opportunities for Adams and Nisbet (meaning we wouldnt have needed a useless target man)
