There will be no silence before Celtic face St Mirren on Sunday. Instead, clubs and fans are invited to participate in a minutes applause to show respect to Queen Elizabeth II after she passed away last Thursday, reports the Sun.

Players will likely wear a black armband as they did midweek for their match in Poland against Shakhtar Donetsk.

After last weekend’s round of matches was postponed, the SPFL and SFA announced that this weekend’s games would be played with a moment of respect before the match.

St Johnstone has also announced that they will hold a minute’s applause before their match against Ross County.

Celtic are looking to collect three points on Sunday, maintaining their lead at the top of the table. The Hoops are in a strong place, five points clear, but it’s still very early in the season, and a lot of things can change. Postecoglou will enforce his team plays at a high level and leave Paisley with all three points.
