LIAM SCALES could leave Celtic on a permanent basis if Aberdeen can find the cash to make the Irishman one of their top summer signings according to reports.

The Daily Record are claiming sources in Ireland claim Liam is keen on a move to the Dons after hearing about their interest. The Irishman is desperate for regular first team football and believes it will be a struggle to get that at Celtic.

The same report suggests a loan deal for the player will be attempted if the SPFL club can’t negotiate a deal with the Hoops.

The defender has made 13 appearances for the Bhoys sine joining last summer; scoring two goals. Liam also has 6 under 21 caps to his name for Ireland, but is yet to make his senior debut.

The 23-year-old was on Celtic’s scouting list for quite some time — before Ange Postecoglou’s even came in the door at Celtic. The Australian has played Liam in games where the bhoys have been struggling with injuries. He did feature in the game against Real Betis in the Europa League after Celtic had already exited the competition.

Ange is looking to refine his squad and if he believes Liam is better elsewhere — it could free up a space for another player to come in.
