ANGE POSTECOGLOU told CeltsAreHere on Friday that it’s still going to take a bit longer for Oh Hyeongyu to get up to speed in a Celtic jersey.

The striker has come on late in three games for the Hoops so far as he looks to both get used to his new teammates and get up to full fitness.

Oh has been brought in to replace the outgoing Giorgos Giakoumakis who is in Mexico City finalising his deal with Atlanta FC at their pre-season training camp.

Celtic restored their nine point lead at the top of the SPFL table on Sunday afternoon with a convincing 4-1 win against St Johnstone,.

Oh came on for another cameo, and promisingly the striker made a meaningful contribution. The new Celtic signing got tight on St Johnstone defender Andrew Considine, before expertly rolling him, leaving the defender with a choice, let Oh go or bring him down. Considine chose the latter and was sent off for his troubles.

Celtic would then score their fourth of the afternoon from the resulting free kick. A meaningful contribution from the frontman who will no doubt get more game time as the season goes on.

Kyogo is on fire at the moment and is Celtic’s number one striker, Oh has the opportunity to bed in over time thanks to the form of the Japanese star.
